You can't help but love a puppie...

...except if you are a rabbit that's hell bent on maintaining it's territory. This is "Flash" Gordon, a very young dog with whom I made friends today. Handsom and affable, he is sadly no match for Princess, the rabbit.

That poor, poor child.

While Xmas shopping I spied a rack of personalised children's birthday candles. I know we live in an age when almost anything can be considered a name, but surely this rates as child abuse.

Sugar's Fourth Birthday (still)

What started as a quick visit has turned into a major night out. Note to self: Wednesdays are not supposed to be this large. Holly could well be considered a bad influence. There is no doubt that one can have a lot of fun on a Wednesday.

Sugar's Fourth Birthday

Up at Sugar's members night to celebrate their fourth year in business. driller had particular reason to celebrate, having just bought out one of the other share holders. He is now truly the Sugar Man.

A pleasant afternoon out.

Kristin and I spent an afternoon going just about everywhere we could think of. However, it must be said that "Beach Shack" at Glenelg is pretty much worse than the old "Magic Mountain" in every way. We managed to have fun anyway.

Not what you want to see when you come back to your computer.

I have had nothing but trouble with this computer. I purchased it secondhand when, while working on the "Believe In" music video, my older computer could on longer handle all the video streams and windows I was using. Shortly after starting use of this new machine, it started crashing whenever I tried to render footage. After weeks of lost time and calls to the LA firm who made the proprietory video card in it, it was established that I needed to downgrade my software and OS to a version the now "legacy" card supported. I did so and all was sweet... until the start of the next project, when the inexplicable crashes returned. This week, I finally pulled the damn card out of the machine once and for all. This seemed to fix the problem... until today. Now, here I am, three crashes later and ready to smash the whole thing. I can feel another reinstall looming.
Sod everything.

November Party - Spikey T

The party was still kicking on come sunrise. One of the last guests to leave was Spikey T. Real diamond geezer, is ol' Spikey.

November Party - Ruth and Steph

More party people, this time Ruth and Steph. I apologise to all those who didn't get into photos, I was a little boozy and forgot to pull the camera out a lot of the time.

Another birthday

The birthday's of my girlfriends seen to be coming thick and fast at the moment.

Another night, another party.

Another birthday party. Some dodgey joints were visited, but a great night was had. Of course, it was 5am by the time I got home.

The things you find when cleaning behind your computer...

I kid you not. This little sucker was happily ensconced away under the G4 edit system (no doubt a nice warm spot when I'm finishing a clip). After my initial surprise, I grabbed a glove and took him out to a new home in the garden. Okay, I'll admit, I did get a little Steve Irwin with him. I swear, I couldn't help it. Heck, you're gonna try and tell me you wouldn't?

Mnemonic Ascent-Believe In

Yet another of my music videos is up on youtube. This one was shot during the Crookneck "Backyard" tour back in 2005. It features performances at Melbourne's Corner Hotel, Sydney's Marquee Club and The Rev in Brisbane.
I handed out video cameras to various people I knew at each gig with the instruction to just keep the tape running (So yeah, Beastie Boys - I did this first!).
I then edited the results together using this "pop-up window" technique.
I actually had to buy a new computer to do the edit on because the old one just couldn't handle all the streams of video (3 nested sequences containing five streams each as well as the "extra" windows I added in). The new computer actually choked on the final part of the clip where I have something like 120 video streams all playing. At least I now know my new edit suite's limits.

This clip can also be seen in a slightly larger format on googlevideo at:

Mnemonic Ascent - Hold Back

Here's the first video I did for crookneck. You may have already seen this clip, as it played on "rage" quite a bit.
We shot this about a year ago. Judd Overton was DOP and Manuel Martinez helped me with the edit.
It took us two days of shooting in the Festival Centre car park and twice that long to get the smell of exhaust fumes out of my skin.
I now can never drive in a car park without humming the tune.

F&D Feat Jimblah - Cool Love

Seems the latest music video I directed has been posted over at youtube. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.
We shot it down around Victor Harbor and Port Elliott at the end of last summer, getting everything filmed in a single day (if you look closely, the stuff on the causeway was filmed at dawn and the stuff on the hill was shot very late in the afternoon).
The clip is currently getting some play on "rage" - so if you want to see it in all it's glory, you'll have to tune in.

Some Swish Joint

At the 21st celebrations of the lovely (if possibly evil) Amy (pictured on the left). Miss Kristin (also quite lovely, if less likely to have a few bodies ensconced away in shallow graves) couldn't help but join our frame. I do dig these girls.

Funky Fixture

I keep walking past this light fixture in a shop window. I'm starting to really like it. The last thing I need it a new light fixture, but it sure is kinda cool.

Electric Lights

Went to see F&d play at The Electric Light Hotel last night. I really dig the new decor. Very funky light fixtures. I also discovered that that the new video clip I made for the group is playing on "rage" next week.

Pretty dress

This picture is not in clear enough focus to adequately appreciate the brilliance of the dress.

The Artist

This frame is not big enough to contain my brilliance.
