Not what you want to see when you come back to your computer.
I have had nothing but trouble with this computer. I purchased it secondhand when, while working on the "Believe In" music video, my older computer could on longer handle all the video streams and windows I was using. Shortly after starting use of this new machine, it started crashing whenever I tried to render footage. After weeks of lost time and calls to the LA firm who made the proprietory video card in it, it was established that I needed to downgrade my software and OS to a version the now "legacy" card supported. I did so and all was sweet... until the start of the next project, when the inexplicable crashes returned. This week, I finally pulled the damn card out of the machine once and for all. This seemed to fix the problem... until today. Now, here I am, three crashes later and ready to smash the whole thing. I can feel another reinstall looming.
Sod everything.

The things you find when cleaning behind your computer...
I kid you not. This little sucker was happily ensconced away under the G4 edit system (no doubt a nice warm spot when I'm finishing a clip). After my initial surprise, I grabbed a glove and took him out to a new home in the garden. Okay, I'll admit, I did get a little Steve Irwin with him. I swear, I couldn't help it. Heck, you're gonna try and tell me you wouldn't?

Mnemonic Ascent-Believe In
Yet another of my music videos is up on youtube. This one was shot during the Crookneck "Backyard" tour back in 2005. It features performances at Melbourne's Corner Hotel, Sydney's Marquee Club and The Rev in Brisbane.
I handed out video cameras to various people I knew at each gig with the instruction to just keep the tape running (So yeah, Beastie Boys - I did this first!).
I then edited the results together using this "pop-up window" technique.
I actually had to buy a new computer to do the edit on because the old one just couldn't handle all the streams of video (3 nested sequences containing five streams each as well as the "extra" windows I added in). The new computer actually choked on the final part of the clip where I have something like 120 video streams all playing. At least I now know my new edit suite's limits.
This clip can also be seen in a slightly larger format on googlevideo at:

Mnemonic Ascent - Hold Back
Here's the first video I did for crookneck. You may have already seen this clip, as it played on "rage" quite a bit.
We shot this about a year ago. Judd Overton was DOP and Manuel Martinez helped me with the edit.
It took us two days of shooting in the Festival Centre car park and twice that long to get the smell of exhaust fumes out of my skin.
I now can never drive in a car park without humming the tune.

F&D Feat Jimblah - Cool Love
Seems the latest music video I directed has been posted over at youtube. Here it is for your viewing pleasure.
We shot it down around Victor Harbor and Port Elliott at the end of last summer, getting everything filmed in a single day (if you look closely, the stuff on the causeway was filmed at dawn and the stuff on the hill was shot very late in the afternoon).
The clip is currently getting some play on "rage" - so if you want to see it in all it's glory, you'll have to tune in.
